About University:
KU Leuven is one of Europe’s oldest universities. It was founded in 1425 and within a century it accommodated around 2000 students. KU Leuven is dedicated to education and research in nearly all fields. Its fifteen faculties offer education, while research activities are organized by the departments and research groups. These faculties and departments, in turn, are clustered into three groups: Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Engineering and Technology (SET), and Biomedical Sciences. Each of these groups has a doctoral school for its doctoral training program. KU Leuven boasts fourteen campuses, spread across 10 cities in Flanders.

About Program:
This ‘Master of Science in Conservation of Monuments and Sites’ aims at educating young professionals in the preservation and restoration of built cultural heritage (buildings, structures and sites), both by introducing them into the tradition of the discipline and into new scientific methods. The Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation promotes reflection on the integration of heritage in today’s evolving society for tomorrow’s generations. It is hosted in the beautiful Arenberg Castle at the Heverlee Campus of KU Leuven. No less than 800 students from 70 countries have studied heritage preservation at RLICC. Most of these alumni work in the heritage field in various positions. Some have leading roles in national or international organisations, whilst others manage or are active in architectural offices, in private consultancies, at academic institutions or with public authorities. Several former RLICC students have pursued their research on the doctoral level at the University of Leuven and at other universities. RLICC alumni are grouped in LAPIS.
